Dunavit

DUNAVIT, also known as the Danube Region Conservation Association, is an environmental organisation based in Šamorín, Slovakia. Its work focuses on the relationship between people and nature, particularly in the heavily transformed landscape of the Csallóköz region. The association aims to restore natural conditions where possible and promote a more balanced coexistence between human communities and the environment. Its mission reflects the understanding that healthy water, air, soil, and ecosystems are essential to quality of life.

DUNAVIT’s activities include environmental protection, habitat creation, biomonitoring, public education, campaigns, and cultural initiatives. Through projects such as “Steps for a Green Landscape,” “Keep the Water,” and “The Forgotten River Barcs,” it addresses landscape restoration and water retention while encouraging public engagement. The organisation also shares knowledge through educational initiatives, including its Eco Academy, and hosts events such as conferences and workshops. DUNAVIT publishes project updates and information for supporters, and invites contributions to help advance its conservation work.
