The Dunbar School Alumni Association, Inc. is an alumni organization based in East Spencer, North Carolina, dedicated to honoring the history and heritage of Paul Laurence Dunbar School and connecting its former students and supporters. The association traces its beginnings to an organizational meeting held in December 2004 by former students responding to a call to come together. Its activities include alumni reunions, events, membership opportunities, and recognition through its Hall of Fame, including a Sports Hall of Fame.

A central part of the association’s work is its Heritage Scholarship program, which has awarded scholarships since 2006 to qualified students enrolled in higher education. Applicants must demonstrate a desire to give back to their communities, be descendants of former Dunbar students, teachers, or administrators, and have the support of a current association member. Past awards have ranged from $300 to $800, helping recipients pursue studies in fields such as technology, journalism, the arts, and health.
