The Duncan Rhodes Painting Academy (DRPA) is an online membership site dedicated to helping hobbyists learn and improve miniature painting. Designed for beginners and experienced painters alike, it offers detailed video tutorials, online guides, painting challenges and courses, with new members-only content added every week. Lessons cover individual figures, vehicles, monsters, scenery and practical techniques, using miniatures from a wide range of settings and games, including Warhammer, Warhammer 40,000, Age of Sigmar, BattleTech, Halo, Star Wars and historical subjects.
The academy also provides a gallery of more than 500 tutorials, reference material and a community where members can share their interest in the hobby. Its tutorials aim to build confidence through clear, repeatable methods, including guidance on colour schemes, highlighting, blending, sub-assemblies and fine details. DRPA also produces Beyond the Brush, a weekly hobby podcast featuring painting and collecting discussions, industry news, behind-the-scenes conversation and occasional guests.
