Dunn Foundation WV

The Dunn Foundation is a West Virginia nonprofit established in 1999 by the Wayne Dunn family in Mineral Wells. As a 501(c)(3) organization, it supports local groups working toward environmental sustainability, social justice, and population stability. Its mission is to strengthen the resources available to West Virginians building a sustainable future, with an emphasis on education, environmental preservation, and a balanced ecosystem.

The foundation offers grant opportunities for eligible West Virginia nonprofit organizations whose programs address areas such as climate change, sustainable forestry, alternative energy, land-use planning, government accountability, sustainable economics, land protection, and population stabilization. Applicants submit a grant application and project cover letter; prior-year recipients must also provide an evaluation form. Applications are due November 1 each year.

Beyond financial grants, the foundation may assist qualified groups through approaches such as real estate acquisition, fundraising, donations, and program or staff development. It also accepts tax-deductible contributions, which donors may earmark for particular programs or issues.
