DUO for a JOB matches young job seekers from diverse backgrounds with people over 50 years old who have a professional experience in related fields and who can accompany and support them in their job search. The youngster and his/her mentor meet for a minimum of two hours a week over a period of six months (of course, flexible arrangements can be made to accommodate their respective agendas). Through its mentoring program, DUO for a JOB encourages an exchange of experience between generations and cultures thus facilitating the future employment of young people while recognising the value of our elders’ experience . About DUO for a JOB
DUO for a JOB is a brand that offers intergenerational and intercultural mentoring programs to facilitate access to the job market for young jobseekers. Their aim is to eliminate inequalities in access to employment for young people with a migrant background and recognize the skills and experience of individuals over 50. Mentees are paired with experienced mentors who share their expertise and knowledge, helping them develop skills, autonomy, and achieve professional objectives.
The program involves weekly meetings for a period of six months, where mentors provide guidance and support. With 1860 mentors and 6131 duos launched since 2013, DUO for a JOB has a proven track record of success. Three out of four young people find a job, internship, or training opportunity through the program, and nine out of ten mentors repeat the experience.
With a methodology focused on qualitative and effective support, including initial training for mentors and careful matching based on various criteria, DUO for a JOB ensures a mutually beneficial and trusting relationship between mentors and mentees.
