Durham Christmas Festival is an enchanting annual celebration that takes place over the first weekend in December. Scheduled for December 5th to 7th, 2025, this festive event transforms the historic city of Durham into a winter wonderland, showcasing three vibrant markets filled with unique items from over 250 small independent businesses. Visitors can explore the heated Craft & Gift Marquee, indulge in regional delicacies at the Food and Drink Producers' Market, and discover local treasures at Durham Market Hall.

Beyond shopping, the festival offers family-friendly entertainment, including a whimsical Children’s Lantern Parade leading to the Cathedral, festive music, and cozy hospitality throughout the city. The event also features local performers and various holiday activities that capture the spirit of Christmas.
