Durham Guild of Spinners, Weavers & Dyers is a charitable craft group based in Durham, England, offering members a sociable setting to practise their skills, learn new techniques and share knowledge with one another and anyone interested in learning. The guild focuses on traditional fibre and textile crafts, including spinning, weaving and dyeing, alongside knitting, felting, braiding and other ways to develop these practices. Its programme includes opportunities to work on projects, exchange advice and explore different techniques.
For example, a January 2026 session is planned to help participants make progress on unfinished projects using a variety of finishing methods. The guild’s theme for 2026 is “Creativity – what’s in your cupboard,” with work inspired by the theme due to be shared at its October open meeting. Meetings are held at St.
Oswald’s Institute on Church Street in Durham. The organisation is registered as a charity under number 517947 and welcomes people interested in learning and participating in its craft activities
