Dust Devil Mining Company is a renowned brand specializing in the mining and sale of rare Sunstones containing copper. Established in Central Oregon, this company has a rich history that dates back to 1991 when rock hounds Terry and Jude Clark, along with Don and Patsy Buford, sought gemstone claims in Oregon. After discovering abandoned Sunstone claims near Plush, Oregon, the partners staked their claims and began extracting these beautiful gemstones.
With a desire to expand their operation, the partners welcomed skilled equipment operator and mechanic Steve Hackler to the company. They constructed a screening plant from salvaged materials and purchased an ancient backhoe to mechanize their mining process. Over the years, their claims expanded to include opal and varicite claims in Nevada, as well as fire agate claims in California.
Dust Devil Mining gained recognition for their Oregon Sunstones at the Tucson International Gem Show in 1996. This exposure led to collaborations with award-winning gemstone carvers and cutters, resulting in the creation of stunning, award-winning jewelry pieces. Currently, Dust Devil Mining operates with an advanced 'Optical Sorting' plant, ensuring the highest quality Sunstones.
The brand continues to receive accolades for its Oregon Sunstones, solidifying its reputation as a provider of exceptional gemstones. Contact Dust Devil Mining to learn more about their captivating collection of natural, all-American Oregon Sunstones
