Dustin O'Halloran

Dustin O’Halloran is a composer and pianist whose work brings together expressive solo piano, strings and electronic textures. His music spans independent releases, live performances and original scores for film. Albums such as Lumière, first released in 2011, reflect a period of experimentation and are presented in an expanded edition with previously unreleased recordings and a remix. The Chromatic Sessions, an EP of spontaneous, single-take piano improvisations inspired by color, is available digitally and on limited-edition colored vinyl; selected releases also include downloadable sheet music.

O’Halloran has composed soundtracks for films including Eleanor the Great and Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy. His score for Eleanor the Great was developed in close collaboration with director Scarlett Johansson and combines piano performances with orchestral writing. He releases music through his own Splinter Music imprint, with recordings available on Bandcamp and streaming services.
