About Laura B Duvall
Duvall Lab is a research group in the Department of Biological Sciences at Columbia University in the City of New York. The lab studies how blood-feeding arthropods regulate innate behaviors, with a focus on mosquitoes and their interactions with humans. Its research explores the biological processes that shape mating, blood feeding, and daily rhythms in attraction to people.
To investigate these behaviors, the Duvall Lab uses genetic, pharmacological, and behavioral techniques. This approach brings together complementary methods to examine how blood feeders respond to biological and environmental cues and how their behavior is regulated. The lab shares information about its publications, news, research team, and work through its website.
Located in the Seeley W. Mudd Building at Columbia University, the Duvall Lab is part of the university’s biological sciences community. Its stated goal is to improve understanding of the mechanisms underlying behavior in blood-feeding arthropods, contributing to research on organisms whose feeding and activity patterns bring them into contact with humans.
