DVTI+CAM develops scientific video cameras and software for astronomers, with a focus on recording stellar occultations and other time-sensitive observations. Created by two Swiss amateur astronomers, the project grew from a desire to improve the experience of observing occultations and has since supported research into asteroids, stars, and their properties.
Its DVTI+CAM 430 camera combines a high-sensitivity 12-bit CMOS image sensor with precise satellite-based timestamping and frame rates of up to 1,000 frames per second. The camera is USB-C bus powered and records in ADV, FITS, and SER formats. The company also provides recording and control software, including DVTI Video Tools, alongside firmware updates, user manuals, and support resources.
DVTI+CAM equipment has been used in reported observations, including the discovery of a moon around an asteroid, the detection of stellar duplicity during an asteroid occultation, and work to determine the shape of a Jupiter Trojan. Customers can explore product information, view a gallery, access a user forum, and purchase through the brand’s online shop.
