It soon shifted to the use of cellulase enzymes, leading us to discover the thermophilic filamentous fungus Thermothelomyces heterothallica, also known as C1. Over the past 30 years, we have invested over $100 million in developing and engineering our proprietary C1-cells.

In the early 1990s, we entered the biotechnology sector and successfully commercialized the C1 produced enzymes for industrial textile manufacturing. Throughout the 2000s, our expansion continued, and we partnered with renowned institutions to maximize the potential of the C1 protein production platform. Since 2015, our focus has been on the pharmaceutical sector, where the C1 platform has shown immense potential in the development and manufacture of drugs and vaccines.
