Dylan Lewis Studio celebrates the work of South African sculptor Dylan Lewis, widely recognised for his depictions of the animal form. His practice initially centred on big cats and has more recently turned to the human figure, exploring the wilderness within and the connections between human and animal life. Myth, ancient belief systems and ideas of the primitive inform this evolving body of work.
At Mulberry Farm in Stellenbosch, the studio’s sculpture garden brings together more than 60 works in a sculpted indigenous landscape. Visitors can explore the garden, its sculpture groupings, the gallery, the Old Studio and the Pavilion, as well as attend events and view media about the artist and his work. The site also features coffee and lifestyle offerings and books, including Dylan Lewis: An Untamed Force. Through its studio, the brand shares information about exhibitions and sculpture auctions, and provides a point of contact for sales enquiries.
