Dyslexia Consult

Dyslexia Consult CA provides academic assessment services for people with suspected dyslexia and other learning disabilities in San Jose and throughout Santa Clara County. The practice is led by Shannon Holleman, a special education teacher with more than 20 years of experience and a master’s degree emphasizing dyslexia. Her work in education, along with her own family’s difficulty finding an affordable local evaluation, inspired her to help address the need for better identification and support.

The assessment process begins with a meeting to understand the individual’s needs. This may include an interview, survey, and review of work samples, helping determine which assessments are appropriate and how much testing is needed. The practice then explains the proposed assessments and associated costs before testing begins. Testing may take place over multiple sessions. After completion, clients meet with Shannon to review the results and discuss recommendations.

Services include written reports, suggested accommodations, and guidance on next steps to support individuals with dyslexia or learning disabilities and their families.
