DYW Ayrshire

Developing the Young Workforce Ayrshire (DYW Ayrshire) is an employer-led youth employment initiative that helps prepare young people in Ayrshire for the world of work. It is part of Scotland’s wider careers and skills system, which connects employers with schools and colleges through 20 regional groups. Hosted by Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce, DYW Ayrshire focuses on building partnerships that create opportunities for young people and help develop a future talent pipeline for local employers.

The organisation supports employers to connect with young people and offer experiences that build understanding of workplace expectations and the skills needed for success. It also helps young people explore career paths, find relevant support and work towards their goals. Parents and educators can access resources to guide young people as they consider their futures. Through its projects, events and initiatives, including the Ayrshire Apprenticeship Challenge, DYW Ayrshire encourages collaboration between education and business. Employers, young people, parents and educators can get involved to influence learning and help shape the future workforce.
