About Dzanc Books
Dzanc Books is an award-winning independent press that was established in 2006 with a mission to promote literary readership and advocate for creative writing workshops and readings across the nation. As a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, Dzanc publishes innovative and acclaimed literary fiction and nonfiction, including works by renowned authors such as Roy Kesey, Yannick Murphy, and Laura van den Berg, among others. They also run the Dzanc Writers-in-Residence Program, placing published authors in public schools to teach creative writing to students.
Dzanc further recognizes exceptional talent through their three annual Dzanc Prizes in novel and short story categories, as well as a third contest that varies annually. Additionally, they organize the Disquiet International Literary Program, a writing conference held in Lisbon, Portugal. Students interested in gaining valuable experience in independent publishing can also find internship opportunities with Dzanc Books.
With their books distributed to booksellers through Publishers Group West, Dzanc is committed to delivering outstanding fiction and nonfiction to the literary community. Explore their contests, programs, and internships to be a part of their impactful literary initiatives
