E-Fischer-Team

The E-Fischer-Team provides professional electrofishing services for fish population rescue, conservation and ecological monitoring. Its experienced team includes biologists, environmental scientists and fisheries specialists, with more than 25 years of experience across a range of waters and project requirements. The team works mainly in southwestern Germany, particularly Baden-Württemberg and the Lake Constance region.

Services include capturing and relocating fish when construction, maintenance or other risks threaten a waterway’s fish population. The team also conducts surveys for monitoring programmes, documentation of fish populations and assessments of fish passage facilities. For conservation projects, electrofishing can help identify rare or threatened species and support habitat management, including the selective removal of predatory fish from amphibian habitats. Where required, other techniques and equipment, such as nets and traps, may supplement surveys.

Work can also include recording and rescuing crayfish and mussels. Caught fish may be identified and measured before being returned to their original location or relocated to another part of the waterway.
