The e Foundation is a non-profit organization developing open-source mobile operating systems designed to protect users’ data privacy. Its flagship offering, /e/OS, is a deGoogled Android-based operating system that supports most Android apps while avoiding Google services. The foundation says it does not scan personal data on devices or in the cloud, track GPS locations, or monitor app use.

Users can download and try /e/OS, or buy a Murena smartphone with the system preinstalled. /e/OS includes an app store that analyzes apps for trackers and privacy risks, helping users make informed choices. Its Advanced Privacy features let users control tracking and conceal their IP address or geolocation, while an ad blocker is enabled by default in the web browser.

Through Murena Workspace, users can also create a free cloud account with a personal @murena.io address and 1 GB of storage. The e Foundation brings together developers, entrepreneurs, and an international community, and provides documentation, source code, support, and opportunities to get involved.
