Eagle Feather Defense is a firearms training business based in Gardnerville, Nevada, serving students in Douglas County, Carson City, and the wider Northern Nevada area. Founded by Scott Minder, a retired sheriff’s deputy with 29 years of law enforcement experience, the company offers Nevada concealed carry weapon (CCW) certification classes grounded in practical instruction. Minder served 14 years as a SWAT team sniper and holds certifications in defensive tactics, CCW instruction, and man tracking.

The full-day CCW course costs $100 and combines four hours of classroom instruction with four hours of live-fire range training. Students learn Nevada concealed carry laws, firearm safety and storage, shooting fundamentals, situational awareness, and use-of-force considerations, then complete the state qualification course with their own handgun. Successful participants receive a certificate to take to their county sheriff’s office when applying for a Nevada CCW permit.
