EAL Network

The EAL Network is the international governing body for facilitators certified through Equine Connection – The Academy of Equine Assisted Learning. It was established to address the need for consistent oversight in equine-assisted learning (EAL), with a central focus on protecting both horses and participants and maintaining the integrity of the learning experience. The network sets standards for ethical horse care, participant safety, facilitator conduct, and program quality.

Its responsibilities include supporting the horse’s Five Freedoms, promoting responsible treatment, managing risk through horse education and ongoing guidance, and checking that certified facilitators meet required working hours, maintain their credentials, and continue learning program objectives. It also helps ensure facilitators work within applicable regional guidelines and do not provide therapy without the appropriate qualifications. The EAL Network supports certified facilitators and provides country-based directories to help people find a facilitator in Canada, Australia and New Zealand, the United States, and other regions.
