Eastern Africa Power Pool (EAPP) is a regional institution established in 2005 to facilitate the coordination of cross-border power trade and grid interconnections among nations in Eastern Africa. With its General Secretariat based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the EAPP currently consists of 13 member countries and 14 member utilities. The region is renowned for its abundant energy resources, including hydro, geothermal, oil, and gas.

The EAPP's main objective is to provide reliable, affordable, and sustainable electrical energy to the entire Eastern Africa region through coordinated actions. They achieve this through various programs and projects, such as infrastructure development, the development of an efficient cross-border power market, and operational excellence. By optimizing energy resources and increasing power supply in the region, the EAPP aims to enhance access to electricity, reduce production costs, and create a conducive environment for investment in the power sector.
