Earth Fire Alliance

Earth Fire Alliance (EFA) is a global nonprofit coalition working to improve how the world detects, monitors, and understands wildfires. Its mission combines purpose-built technology with community-driven action to strengthen wildfire resilience, protect lives and ecosystems, and make critical fire information globally accessible. EFA serves firefighters, scientists, and communities with timely, trustworthy data to support preparedness and response.

The alliance’s central initiative is FireSat, a satellite constellation developed in collaboration with more than 200 firefighters, incident commanders, and scientists. Designed to provide frequent, high-resolution observations, FireSat aims to help identify fires while they are small and deliver near-real-time information at the scale wildfire response requires. EFA also provides pathways for early adopters and data access, alongside resources and programs for the wildfire community.

Organizations can engage with Earth Fire Alliance by partnering with the coalition, registering interest in FireSat data, or supporting its mission through philanthropy. Through these efforts, EFA is building shared technological infrastructure and a globally useful record of fire activity to inform incident management, scientific research, and long-term resilience.
