About c0deConstructor
Earthquake Animator is a free, browser-based visualization tool that transforms public USGS and EMSC earthquake catalogs into interactive, time-ordered displays on a 3D globe. Designed for exploration and education, it helps users see not only where earthquakes occur, but also when they happen, how sequences develop, and how events relate to depth and geological features. Users can choose date ranges and regions, filter by magnitude, and search using a centre and radius or geographic boundaries.
Playback controls let them pause, scrub, slow down, or reverse an animation, while a cross-section view reveals earthquake hypocentres inside the Earth. Optional layers show tectonic plate boundaries, active faults, Holocene volcanoes, borders, rivers, lakes, and a coordinate grid. The experience can also display the Sun and Moon in their positions for the selected moment.
No account or installation is required. Earthquake Animator is a visualization tool, not an alerting service; it directs users seeking official warnings and hazard guidance to the USGS Earthquake Hazards Program
