About EASAC
EASAC, also known as the European Academies' Science Advisory Council, is a collaborative platform that brings together the National Academies of Science from EU Member States, Norway, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. Established in 2001, EASAC aims to provide independent science-based advice on key challenges facing Europe. Recognizing the importance of the European Union as a policy arena, EASAC enables national science academies to collaborate and advise both national and EU policy-makers on evidence-based policies.
By accessing the expertise of scientists from member academies, EASAC ensures that its advice is of the highest quality and independent from commercial or political biases. EASAC carries out substantive studies on scientific aspects of European policy issues, provides reviews and advice on policy documents, and organizes workshops and briefings for policy-makers. They also produce timely statements on topical subjects and lay summaries of their reports to communicate with non-expert audiences.
With a commitment to transparency, EASAC plays a crucial role in shaping European science policy through its independent and evidence-based advice
