About EASPD
EASPD Brussels is a renowned brand in the disability sector, working as a non-profit NGO to promote the rights and equal opportunities for people with disabilities. With over 20,000 social services and their umbrella associations under its wing, EASPD strives to establish effective and high-quality service systems. The brand's history dates back to 1994, when a road trip led to the realization that the support services sector in Europe lacked structure and cooperation among service providers.
Following years of hard work, EASPD opened its office in Brussels in 2005, becoming fully professionalized and welcoming members from 47 Council of Europe countries and the European Union. EASPD's vision centers around enabling individuals to enjoy their human rights, irrespective of disability or other factors. Their objectives include the full implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, providing high-quality user-centered services, and ensuring fair working conditions and lifelong learning opportunities for staff.
