East Durham Running Club

East Durham Running Club is a community-focused running organisation serving the East Durham area. Guided by values of inclusivity, development, strength, community and heritage, it welcomes people of all ages and abilities, from beginners taking their first steps to experienced runners pursuing new goals. The club aims to make running enjoyable, accessible and supportive, offering a variety of sessions for different fitness levels and encouraging members to progress at their own pace.

Experienced run leaders and fellow members provide guidance and encouragement in a non-judgmental environment. The club also runs a Couch to 5K programme and invites members to take part in races and social events. Its wider purpose is to help people overcome barriers, build confidence and connect through running, including those facing personal challenges.

Working with partners including East Durham Trust, This Girl Can, Lotto and Sport England, the club seeks to create a healthier, happier and more connected local community.
