East African Alliance on Carbon Markets is a dynamic brand that is dedicated to promoting sustainable practices and combating climate change in the Eastern African region. Comprised of seven member countries including Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, and Sudan, the Alliance aims to strengthen capacities and foster a regional approach towards carbon markets and climate financing. With a focus on Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, the Alliance facilitates knowledge sharing and collaboration among member states to achieve their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) through cost-efficient market mechanisms.
