MaternityCare Alliance is a leading advocate for safe childbirth practices, emphasizing the importance of informed choices for expectant mothers. With a growing concern for the complications associated with home births, this organization calls for clearer warnings regarding the potential dangers. MaternityCare Alliance recognizes that many women are opting for home deliveries due to past stressful hospital experiences. However, they stress that only skilled maternity professionals should assist in these situations, especially for those with higher-risk pregnancies.

The organization highlights significant disparities in the availability of quality home delivery services, which can impact maternal and infant safety. MaternityCare Alliance advocates for improved training and support for birth attendants, particularly in high-pressure environments. They emphasize the need for open communication between healthcare providers and expectant mothers about the risks involved in home childbirth, urging that informed and educated decisions are paramount for both maternal and neonatal health. The mission of MaternityCare Alliance is to ensure that all women receive the highest standard of care throughout their birthing journey.
