The Fife School Aquatic Group (FSAG) is dedicated to revitalizing swimming and lifeguard training opportunities for youth in the Cupar area. This collaborative initiative involves key local organizations, including the East Fife Sports Council, Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, and Bell Baxter High School, aimed at reconnecting young people with swimming—a crucial life skill that was lost from the school curriculum for over a decade. Since its establishment, FSAG has made a significant impact by restoring access to swimming facilities and lessons at Cupar Sports Centre.
The group offers various training programs that empower local youth by providing opportunities to earn lifeguard and swim teaching qualifications, enhancing their employability in the leisure sector. Awarded a Sustainability Award in 2022 for its contributions to community engagement and aquatic sports, FSAG's mission focuses on improving water safety education and expanding swimming lesson availability. With ambitious plans for the future, FSAG continues to foster essential skills and career pathways for the next generation in Cupar
