Eastside Fechtverein is a Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) club based in Issaquah, Washington, serving the Issaquah Valley. Its name means “fencing association” in German, reflecting the club’s focus on studying and practicing historical fencing and related martial arts. Members explore centuries-old sources, including fighting manuals and treatises, to understand and recreate the fighting arts described in them.
The club provides information for people interested in learning about HEMA, finding class and location details, and understanding the equipment used for training. Its website also outlines dues, a code of conduct, and instructor information, helping prospective and current members learn what to expect and how to get involved. Eastside Fechtverein welcomes inquiries by email and also connects visitors with the club through Facebook.
Whether someone is new to historical martial arts or looking for a local community devoted to their study, the club offers a point of contact for discovering its activities and practical participation details
