About EAST TAROT
EAST TAROT is a maker of historical tarot and playing cards, combining traditional European card-making methods with designs inspired by early card traditions. The decks are crafted by hand using hand-cut stencils to apply layers of pigment, then individually trimmed and finished. Printed on laid paper, they are made for handling and play, with the subtle variations that come from manual production.
The East Tarot deck draws on the visual language of early Italian tarocchi, with bold forms and flat colour. EAST TAROT also offers standard playing cards featuring stencilled suits and hand-cut pips, as well as a Minchiate deck that revives the 97-card game associated with Renaissance Florence. Its cards include a full tarot sequence, the signs of the Zodiac, and the four Elements, and are based on historical originals.
