East West Billfish

East West Billfish Oregon Inlet is a nonprofit organization based in Dare County, North Carolina, dedicated to supporting local fishermen and their families during difficult times. Rooted in a community where fishing is a way of life, the group brings people together through a friendly, cause-driven fishing competition. Its annual Billfish Tournament runs from May 1 through September 30, raising funds to help meet community needs.

The organization finances its work through tournament entry fees, sponsorships, and donations, relying on the involvement and generosity of local supporters. Funds are used to assist fishermen who face injury, illness, mechanical problems, or other hardships that prevent them from working on the water. By helping ease the financial strain during these periods, East West Billfish Oregon Inlet aims to lift spirits and support fishermen until they can return to the work they love. The group’s activities combine billfishing, community fundraising, and practical assistance, with a focus on caring for the people and families who sustain the local fishing community.
