Sarasota-Manatee Originals is a community organization dedicated to championing independent restaurants across Florida’s Sarasota and Manatee counties. Celebrating more than 20 years of local flavor, it brings together over 70 locally owned eateries, from Anna Maria Island to Venice, and encourages residents and visitors to “Eat Like a Local.” The organization highlights restaurants that contribute to the Gulf Coast’s dining scene and supports the restaurateurs and communities behind them.
Visitors can explore member restaurants by name or category and purchase dining certificates. Sarasota-Manatee Originals also hosts food and wine experiences, including Forks & Corks, Taste of the Bay, Wine Down Wednesdays, Set the Bar, and the Originals Culinary Tour. Forks & Corks offerings include tastings, winemaker dinners, winery participation, and an online food and wine auction. The organization shares restaurant news, events, and local dining updates through its blog, event calendar, and newsletter. It also provides opportunities to join as a member, volunteer, or explore jobs with participating restaurants.
