Founded in 1984, the Energy Coordinating Agency serves low-income Philadelphians by coordinating energy services and providing high-quality energy conservation, education, heating, and home repair services. ECA has established a network of 15 Neighborhood Energy Centers that serve as one-stop-shops for low-income energy services.

These centers offer weatherization, heating system repair and replacement, home repair, bill payment assistance, budget counseling, and home energy education. Additionally, ECA operates the Knight Green Jobs Training Center, which prepares individuals for clean energy jobs through professional training courses. The Training Center offers various certifications, including building science principles, weatherization and retrofit, heating professional, and more.

ECA is also dedicated to environmental protection, as demonstrated by its LEED Gold certified operation. Each year, ECA weatherizes homes, repairs or replaces heaters, provides energy counseling and utility bill payment assistance, and conducts home weatherization workshops for thousands of families. Through their training programs, they prepare individuals for high-demand, clean energy careers.
