ECB Benthuizen

Evenementen Commissie Benthuizen (ECB) is a community events organization serving Benthuizen in the Netherlands. It brings residents together through welcoming activities for people of all ages, combining local traditions, recreation and opportunities to meet. Its program includes the Benthuizer AvondVierdaagse, a multi-evening walking event with routes of five and ten kilometres, as well as a children’s walking event.

ECB also organizes the annual Bietenoptocht, where children display decorated beets, and supports celebrations such as the Sinterklaas arrival and King’s Day. The committee has also hosted a car-boot sale, creating a community marketplace for second-hand goods. These events rely on volunteers, participants, sponsors and local partners, with support ranging from music and refreshments to equipment and safety arrangements.

ECB shares event news and information through its website and social media, and invites community support through initiatives such as Rabobank ClubSupport. Its work helps keep Benthuizen active and connected by creating accessible, enjoyable experiences and sustaining distinctive local traditions
