Échiquier Du Gatinais

Échiquier du Gâtinais is a chess club based in Amilly, in the Gâtinais region of France. It welcomes young people and adults at every level, from beginners discovering the rules to experienced players taking part in competitions. The club’s aim is to make chess enjoyable and accessible while helping members learn, improve and connect with others.

Activities take place on Fridays at the Maison des jeunes, 213 rue de la Gare, Amilly. Young players meet from 5:30 p.m. for lessons organised by ability, while adults gather from 8:15 p.m. for casual games and position analysis. Members can also join tournaments, represent the club in team competitions, and share in the social side of chess through friendly games and discussion.

The club participates in regional and national league events and features tournaments including the Open International d’Amilly, the Open Jeunes d’Amilly and a local school tournament.
