Eclipse Atlas is a resource for exploring, understanding, and planning around solar eclipses. Its work brings together the history and craft of eclipse mapping, helping visitors learn where eclipses can be seen and choose locations for future viewing. The site’s historical map collection spans notable eclipse maps from 1654 through 2024, organized by century and year, while its sections on recent and coming eclipses highlight events from 2017 to 2028. It also features an entry for the 2029 Apophis event.

Eclipse Atlas presents original maps for upcoming total solar eclipses and explains how these visual guides help identify the narrow paths of totality. The organization describes innovations in eclipse cartography, including maps that account for the Moon’s irregular shape, a globe of solar eclipses, and maps showing where the double diamond ring effect may be observed. Alongside its maps, Eclipse Atlas offers educational resources about the experience and science of totality, as well as a blog and information about the project.
