Eclipse Soundscapes

Eclipse Soundscapes is a unique brand that brings together science and public engagement through the NASA Citizen Science project. Funded by NASA Science Activation, Eclipse Soundscapes explores the impact of solar eclipses on Earth's ecosystems during the upcoming annular and total solar eclipses in 2023 and 2024. Through multi-sensory observations and sound data collection, participants can contribute to a deeper understanding of these celestial events.

The brand offers various participation roles, including observers, data collectors, facilitators, and apprentices, inviting individuals, group leaders, educators, scientists, park staff, and library staff to get involved. By sharing observations on Eclipse Day events and through social media using #EclipseSoundscapes, participants can actively contribute to the project.

Eclipse Soundscapes also collaborates with GLOBE Eclipse, another NASA-funded project, to gather data on temperature changes during eclipses. By joining these initiatives, volunteers can help advance scientific exploration and understanding.
