About ECOAN
ECOAN is a brand that is dedicated to the conservation of endangered species and threatened ecosystems in Peru. With a mission to protect biodiversity, promote sustainable use of natural resources, restore habitats, and provide environmental education, ECOAN works collaboratively with local communities, authorities, and key allies. With a vision for a sustainable future, ECOAN aims to be recognized as a leading institution in local, national, and international conservation efforts.
They strive to make a positive impact on biodiversity by working closely with the population and implementing conservation strategies. ECOAN's history dates back to the year 2000 when four biologists founded the organization. They initially focused on preserving threatened bird species and their high-altitude ecosystems in the Cusco region.
Over the years, ECOAN expanded its work to other regions of Peru, including Amazonas, San Martín, Junín, Pasco, Huaraz, Lima, and Cajamarca. With 19 years of experience, ECOAN has been instrumental in generating environmental awareness, improving natural resource management practices, and building strong partnerships with local communities. As a non-profit NGO, ECOAN is widely recognized for its dedication to conservation and is registered as a recipient of international technical cooperation.
The ECOAN team consists of passionate biologists, researchers, and specialists who lead various conservation projects across different regions in Peru. They work diligently to protect critically threatened species and restore their habitats. With their expertise in ecology, natural resource management, and community engagement, the team ensures the success of ECOAN's initiatives.
