Ecobuild Architects is a sustainability-focused residential and commercial design firm based in Oakland, California. Led by Courtney Miller, an experienced architect with over 30 years of expertise in various building types, Ecobuild Architects offers a range of exceptional products and services. Courtney's architectural journey began after graduating from UCLA in 1981, working on large retail and commercial high-rise projects in Dallas before pursuing opportunities in Boston in 1986.
He gained experience in transportation, multi-family, and institutional projects before establishing his own practice in 1992, starting with the House on Forte Pond. Passionate about green building and sustainable design, Courtney founded the subsidiary, New England Solar Homes, in 1995. He later established the green building consultancy, CMA Consulting Architects, during his Co-Chair appointment to the Committee on the Environment at the Boston Society of Architects in 1999.
Since relocating to California in 2006, Courtney has worked for several commercial firms before re-establishing Ecobuild Architects in 2017.
