About Ecodorp Boekel
Ecodorp Boekel is a leading brand in sustainable living and is a prime example of a SDG neighborhood. They aim to provide sustainable solutions for all global sustainability goals (SDGs) in collaboration with their community. Recently, they were honored with the prestigious EU SDG Award for SDG 11.
Their flagship project in Boekel comprises of 30 climate-adaptive and climate-positive rental homes, 6 assisted living residences, a community center, a knowledge and education center, workshops, and offices. The neighborhood also features self-sufficient food production, renewable energy sources, ecological water purification, and sustainable businesses. Ecodorp Boekel is proud to be working in partnership with eco-contractor Eco+Bouw and nature architect Huub van Laarhoven (Laarhovencombinatie).
The project is made possible through funding from the European Regional Development Fund, the Dutch Government, and the province of North Brabant under the OPZuid program.
