About EcoHeritage
EcoHeritage is an innovative initiative focused on ecomuseums, aimed at fostering collaboration for the recognition, management, and protection of cultural and natural heritage. Funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, this project involves partners from Italy, Poland, Portugal, and Spain. It primarily targets rural communities and ecomuseums across Europe, while secondary audiences include municipalities, cultural institutions, and adult education providers. The project aims to enhance awareness of ecomuseums as sustainable heritage management models and promotes social and economic cohesion among rural populations.
To achieve its goals, EcoHeritage will produce valuable intellectual outputs, such as a report on the current state of ecomuseums, a Best Practices Manual, and a participatory heritage management toolkit. By generating income through culture and knowledge, ecomuseums serve as cooperative entities that support sustainable development. Ultimately, the EcoHeritage Project aspires to create robust communication networks between ecomuseums, facilitating the exchange of good practices and enhancing the cultural richness of rural areas as viable sources of development.
