In 2020, Ripples Nigeria, a renowned investigative journalism platform, aspired to establish itself in the country's news space and found an opportunity in the Google News Initiative (GNI) innovation challenge. Our pitch, Eco-Nai+, was not only innovative but also ambitious as it aimed to become Nigeria's first digital geo-journalism platform. As one of the three winners from Nigeria out of 329 applications from 35 countries, we were awarded the opportunity to bring our vision to life.
