Eco-Schools Greece is a network for environmental education coordinated nationally by the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature, with the international programme coordinated by the Foundation for Environmental Education. It supports schools across Greece in making sustainability part of everyday learning and school life, encouraging students, teachers, and families to work together on practical environmental action.

Participating schools undertake activities to reduce waste, save energy and water, and lower their ecological footprint at school and at home. The programme offers guidance through seven steps, an information booklet explaining the process, and opportunities for teachers to attend training seminars. Schools can share their projects and experiences through the network’s news and activities, and find participating schools through an online map and directory.

The network also holds student festivals and recognition events, where schools present their work and successful participants may receive the Green Flag award. Eco-Schools Greece provides a structured, collaborative framework for learning about environmental responsibility and turning that learning into visible action in local school communities.
