About European Cybersecurity Challenge
The European Cyber Security Challenge (ECSC) 2026 is set to take place in Bochum, Germany, from October 12 to 16, 2026. This premier cybersecurity competition brings together the best young talents from over 35 countries, all vying for recognition in a thrilling 72-hour Capture The Flag (CTF) event. Organized by NFITS e.V., the event showcases participants aged 14 to 25 who have qualified from a pool of more than 30,000 nationwide contenders.
Throughout the five-day competition, teams will engage in various cybersecurity challenges, including Jeopardy-style questions and real-time Attack-Defense scenarios. Participants will explore essential domains such as web security, cryptography, and binary exploitation. The ECSC not only highlights emerging talent but is also supported by prominent organizations like ENISA and the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre, ensuring a high-standard event. Bochum, a hub for IT security and home to advanced research institutions, provides an innovative backdrop for this exciting challenge focused on fostering youth engagement in cybersecurity.
