About ECTA
ECTA, the European Chemical Transport Association, is dedicated to setting standards for the transport and logistics of chemical goods in Europe with the aim of improving efficiency, safety, security, and environmental impact. They work towards this mission by developing Best Practices in collaboration with their members, other associations, authorities, and institutions at regional, national, and international levels. ECTA also offers the Responsible Care Program (RC) for the European chemical land transport sector, providing the industry with a strong voice at the European level and effectively communicating its views to key audiences.
ECTA actively participates in dialogue between logistics service providers, the Chemical Industry, authorities, and institutions to proactively enhance health, safety, security, and environmental performance. They exchange information with members and stakeholders and ensure compliance with EU competition rules. Founded in 1997 as the European Chemical Road Transport Association, ECTA expanded to include all modes of transportation and was renamed the European Chemical Transport Association.
