Edelweiss

Alpenverein Edelweiss is an Austrian Alpine club offering membership, climbing facilities, training and outdoor services. Its Edelweiss climbing centres include locations in Vienna and nearby areas, with the Walfischgasse venue serving as a longstanding part of Vienna’s climbing scene. Set in a historic building, the Walfischgasse bouldering hall has 1,100 square metres of climbing space across five levels, welcoming beginners and experienced climbers, adults and children. Facilities include a dedicated children’s area, fitness room, warm-up and gymnastics space, therapeutic climbing room, equipment shop and rental, and refreshments.

The club provides courses and workshops for adults, children, young people and families, as well as introductory climbing sessions, individual coaching, performance training and therapeutic climbing. Groups can arrange school visits and children’s birthday events. Visitors can choose day entry, time passes, longer-term tickets or subscriptions, including an option for access to several Edelweiss climbing centres. Alpenverein Edelweiss also promotes outdoor tours and mountain services, and membership includes leisure insurance.
