Eden Whale Festival

The Eden Whale Festival is an annual community event celebrating the southern migration of humpback and other whales. Held in Eden on the NSW Sapphire Coast, the festival brings visitors together to experience the region’s coastal wilderness, maritime heritage and connection to whales. Eden is highlighted as a place where whales can sometimes be seen feeding, making whale watching a central part of the occasion.

Across one weekend each year, the festival offers a varied program for visitors of all ages. Activities include food events, art exhibitions, markets featuring local artisans, regional food and wine, educational marine displays and presentations, children’s entertainment and live music. The festival also features a parade and an art competition, with program information and stallholder details available for 2026. Visitors can explore whale-watching opportunities and other coastal activities around NSW, including locations and cruises. The event acknowledges the Thaua people of the Yuin nation as Traditional Custodians of the area’s lands and waters, and is supported by local businesses, community organisations and sponsors.
