EDGE Bangladesh is a pioneering project focused on creating a digital government and economy in Bangladesh, backed by the World Bank and the Government of Bangladesh. The project aims to establish a comprehensive cloud-computing digital platform for all government agencies, enhance cyber-security, and generate substantial cost savings in the public sector's IT investments, estimated at a significant $200 million. Furthermore, the initiative will enable the government to operate virtually during crises and provide essential public services to citizens and businesses.

The ambitious vision of EDGE Bangladesh includes achieving $300 million in ICT exports by 2026. It also aims to support the construction of a technology-driven, smart, and developed Bangladesh to fulfill Bangabandhu's vision of Sonar Bangla. The project's mission encompasses the development of skilled human resources, the establishment of smart legislation and policies, and the promotion of a digital economy through innovation, research, and the growth of the ICT industry. EDGE Bangladesh is also dedicated to enhancing cyber-security, providing cloud services, and promoting digital literacy.
