EdgewaterArtists is a dynamic and vibrant brand that showcases and promotes art in Chicago's Edgewater neighborhood. As a 501(c)3 organization, our mission is to help the local community prosper through the power of art. We are a collective of art lovers and talented artists dedicated to enhancing the appeal of Edgewater as a pedestrian-friendly commercial district.

Our journey began in 2009, during one of the country's toughest recessions. Concerned about the impact of vacant storefronts on existing businesses, a neighborhood resident named Rae Ann Cecrle approached the owner of these spaces with an innovative idea – installing art to attract foot traffic and potential tenants. And so, Edgewater Artists in Motion was born.

Since then, we have beautified the neighborhood by displaying art in vacant storefronts, sparking joy and awe in the community. The response has been overwhelming, with residents expressing their appreciation for the transformed landscape. We have provided a platform for local artists to showcase their talent and have witnessed their successes, from increased visibility to solo gallery shows.
